Rati Saxena - is a poet, translator, editor and director of the poetry festival-kritya. She is specialized in the study of the Vedas, especially the Atharva Veda, and secured a Ph.D. Degree in Sanskrit from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. She has published two collections of poetry in English, one in Malayalam (translated), while four collections of her own poems and a critical work about the renowned Malayalam poet Balamani Amma are in Hindi. Her poems have been translated as well into many non-Indian languages. One of her books has been published in Italian and another one in the Uzbeck language. Her work on the Atharvaveda has been published as *The Seeds of the Mind--* a fresh approach to the study of Atharvaveda. It was made possible due to a fellowship of the Indira Gandhi National Center for Arts. She has translated about 12 Malayalam works, both prose and poetry, into Hindi and has participated in several national seminars and published articles in a number of journals. She secured the Kendriya Sahitya Akedemy award for translation for the year 2000. She is Chief Editor of a bilingual web journal for poetry - www.kritya.in and managing trustee of a literary foundation called Kritya, under which she organized 6 poetry festivals (four international and two national). She has been invited for poetry reading in prestigious poetry festivals "PoesiaPresente" in Monza (Italy), Mediterranea Festival and International House of Stavanger ( Norway) , Struga Poetry Evening , Macedonia and '3rd Hofleiner Donauweiten poesiefestival 2010, Vienna and the famous Poetry festival in Medellin, Colombia and Sir Hotal in turkey etc. She is a founding member of and representative from Asia to the World Poetry Movement in Medellin.
