Painter Mitrakas

Sculpture below the entrance into his house on Dafnomili

The first notification of a different person having moved into this house at the corner was the care with which it was restored and which details were added to give an indication aesthetics ruled here. Around the corner there can be seen a mural instead of a window.

A bit further down Dafnomili Mitrakas has rented a large storage space at street level. This is his extended attelier and show room. Here the prepares for exhibitions or writes letters. Always he has something to do whether painting on stones orthodox men with their long dark beards and red caps or else in discussing with visitors his works.

Late in the evening he can be seen sitting in his house and concentrating on what new narratives his brush wishes to tell whether on canvas or a bed post, that depends what he is doing at the moment.
